This Privacy Policy explains how Shadow Call ("the App") handles information when you use our fake call and call simulation features. Shadow Call is published by Apllex ("we", "our", or "us") and is designed to simulate realistic phone calls for privacy, social comfort, and planned interruption scenarios. It does not provide real telephony or VoIP services.
By installing or using Shadow Call, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Table of Contents
1. Overview – Key Points
- No account required: We do not require you to create an account or sign in.
- Data stored mainly on your device: Caller profiles, schedules, and app settings are stored locally (such as
SharedPreferences). - No real call routing: The App uses Android's Telecom APIs and local simulation only. It does not route real calls through servers.
- No call log access: Shadow Call does not read or write your device call history.
- Limited use of personal data: Personal information is used only to provide fake call and dialer simulation features.
- Third-party services: Google AdMob (ads) and Google Play Billing (in-app purchases) may collect data under their own policies.
2. Information We Collect and How We Use It
2.1 Information You Provide
- Caller profiles and presets — fake caller name, number, optional photo/label. Stored locally.
- Scheduled call details — caller profile, time, repeat mode, alarm IDs. Stored locally and in Android alarm storage.
- App settings — vibration, auto-answer/hangup, ringtone, SIM labels. Stored locally.
- Custom audio / text-to-speech — recordings and TTS text for fake calls. Stored locally; not uploaded.
We process this information only to provide the App's core features and do not sell it.
2.2 Information from Device Permissions
Shadow Call requests permissions incrementally, in context, when a feature needs them. You can revoke permissions anytime in Android settings.
2.3 Automatically Collected Information
- On-device technical data: The App may keep local logs (e.g. schedules, errors, call simulation state) for debugging and reliability. These logs stay on your device.
- Google AdMob: Through the ads SDK, limited usage and device information may be collected automatically (e.g. advertising ID, approximate location from IP, ad impressions and clicks), processed by Google under its policies.
We do not maintain our own backend server for tracking your usage across devices.
3. In-App Purchases
Shadow Call may offer in-app purchases (for example, to remove ads or unlock premium features such as conversation simulation) via Google Play Billing.
- Google Play may process purchase tokens, order details, and basic account information for payment.
- We receive limited purchase information (such as whether a purchase was successful) to unlock features and restore purchases.
- Payment details (e.g. credit card information) are handled only by Google and are not shared with us.
See Google's Privacy Policy for more information.
4. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
We may share limited information with third-party service providers to operate and improve the App:
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — displays advertisements. AdMob may use device identifiers and other data to provide, personalize, and measure ads, subject to your device settings and applicable law.
- Google Play Services / Google Play Billing — app distribution, secure in-app purchases, and related Play services.
These providers act as independent data controllers for certain processing. See Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information only when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
5. Data Storage, Retention, and Security
- Local storage: Caller profiles, schedules, settings, and logs stay on your device. Uninstalling the App generally removes this data.
- Retention: Only as long as needed for app functionality or legal obligations.
- Security: Reasonable measures; absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
6. Your Choices and Controls
- Permissions: Grant or revoke Phone, Contacts, Microphone, or Alarms in Android settings. Without phone permission, the system call UI may not work; without microphone permission, you cannot record custom voice for conversation simulation.
- Contacts: You can enter caller names and numbers manually without granting contacts access.
- Local data: Delete presets and schedules in the app, or uninstall to remove local data.
- Ads: Premium users who purchase ad removal will not see in-app ads. You may also control ad personalization via device and Google settings where available.
7. Children's Privacy
Not intended for children under 13 (or local minimum age). Contact us to delete any data from children where required.
8. International Users
Use outside your country may involve global processing by providers such as Google. Use implies consent under local laws.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change. Continued use means acceptance.
